I've been an IPad Pro M1 2021 user and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm looking to buy an SSD to pair it with and manage space.
I am editing 4k video and RAW images on the iPad and looking to use the SSD as a storage solution.

The conventional SSDs on the market are a little pricey for me at the moment and I'm looking to get something like a Patriot burst elite (Patriot P210 SATA 3 1TB SSD 2.5 Inch https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B087KBL5KS...9TA75W74RZZZQ3XQX&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1) with a USB-C cable.

Would a setup like this work, provided the SSD is formatted to FAT/exFAT formats? Has anyone here tried something like this before? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much guys!

Can't speak to that drive but I use Samsung SSDs formatted exFAT for storage/editing of 4K video (Lumafusion) and RAW photo images (Lightroom). No issues.
The SSD really shouldn't matter if it's formatted to the requirement right?
