Ok hi guys I'm thinking about getting a Mac i have never owned a Mac before and am not in any real need to get a computer though I would like a Mac.
I am not sure if getting a Mac is the right decision what do you think? Bear in mind that I have a high spec gaming PC and an iPad at the moment. I don't realy want to spend over a thousand pound on it if i dont have to that is why I was thinking of getting a Mac mini upgrade the ram and use it on my 32 inch 1080p tv in my room wat do you think about that?
I would like to use it as a full on Mac not just as a media centre so will a Mac mini be fine for all the things that I will want to do with my Mac like video and photo editing.
It would not be my main computer so I won't need it to be to fast but I would like it to comfortably run most applications.
Finally is it even worth getting a Mac? I love my pc it does everything I need to do easily and I enjoy using my iPad when I'm away from my desk
Thanks

The Mini sounds like a great idea. Hooking it up to that big TV is going to be awesome. You won't have any of the limitations of an AppleTV, and you can use it as a regular computer and a media server. You will love it

Video/photo editing will be fine on the Mini. Everything you want to use should run well.

Your PC can stay where it is, and you'll have the Mac hooked up to the big screen. Sounds perfect to me.

Thanks

Anks for your advice but there is one thing I forgot to mention and that is will the Mac mini be ok for designing apps with the ios sdk kit? As that is my mane reason for getting a Mac:cool:

Plenty of power for programming. Should be completely fine even if you don't upgrade the RAM. Just buy the basic model.

Note that if your TV has a DVI or even VGA input you can save a bit more by buying last years Mini, which was less expensive and likely to be discounted as well.
