Hello All,

I have done quite a bit of reading, and looking to JB my phone, I have used redsn0w in the past, however time to do this again.

a. Currently phone is locked to network so I need to unlock
b. I need to install Cydia, Winterboard, SBSettings

Currently I have my 3 simcard to which it is locked, and I will continue to use until next week, then I will use new Telstra SIM. So Can I JB and unlock today and then change SIM next week?

Then the hard part. Do I use RedSn0w or BlackRa1n. Iphone is Version - 3.12(7D11) and week 26 phone.

Also when I use Cydia should I add any specific servers to allow safe content?

Thanks in advance

You can jailbreak whenever you want. Since you've already used redsn0w I would recommend you stay with it. It's got a couple of additional steps, but it is more reliable. For jailbreak you will probably need blacksn0w. You can install that whenever you want, too, but be aware that a not insignificant minority of users have periodic WiFi connectivity issues with blackra1n which require network settings to be reset.

Thanks for that.

So if I JB with RedSn0W I can still use blackrain?

Also can I use 3 sim for a few days and change to telstra? will that auto update settings to allow data etc

Thanks heaps

Don't confuse blackra1n (a jailbreak app) and blacksn0w (the unlock). You can install blacksn0w through Cydia after jailbreaking. Just add the repository http://blackra1n.com/ to Cydia and then search for blacksn0w.

You should have no problem using your 3 SIM after blackra1n, but when you switch to Telestra you may have to edit your APN settings to get data and MMS to work. If you can't use data after switching, search for Telestra APN settings; there should be plenty of threads on it.
