my work email is on outlook 2000 at my deskjob. I have set up forwarding of my work emails to a gmail account thats imaped in my iphone 3g.So when i get an email at work it shows up on my iphone.YEH!:) Its almost like exchange but close.
BUT  When i read the mail on my phone it doesn't show read on my work outlook when i get back to my desk. my work still shows all the unread emails although i did read them on my iphone.

Any advice on how this can be done since my work doesnt support exhange on iphone.?;)
Thanks a million.

Well if your company allows exchange support for any phone then it would work for the iphone. They are probably giving you the run around by saying they don't "support" it as in if something gets messed up on your phone they don't want to have to worry about it.

as far as your situation is concerned, there's going to be no way for gmail to tell your outlook that the message has been read. that's where you are stuck. even with a gmail sync there's no communication back to your outlook. you are just forwarding to gmail to read it so that's your sticking point. it's a one way communication and it won't support 2 way.

yes they are supporting blackberrys for some ppl here.
Well we need more ppl to have iphones to use exchange.
