iPad Pro Advice on selling iPad Pro 11 (so I can upgrade to 12.9)

I’ve decided to really, really want the larger iPad Pro. Of course I purchased the 11 inch version but now want to get rid of it and put the money toward the larger version. So my my question is, has anyone done this? How did you end up selling it? What service? reddit, eBay, etc? I figure I should get a decent amount back since it is still under warranty until the end of this year. Any advice is appreciated.

They're already being discounted 10%+ at the major retailers, so don't expect to get a huge amount for a used device; especially as it sounds like you do not have AppleCare on it.
That being said, eBay if you don't want to deal with face-to-face, Craigslist or something similar if you're Ok with selling directly to someone.

I did, I wanted the 11” 1TB model with the 6GB of ram. So I bought one new on eBay. Then I sold my 11” cellular 64GB model used with a scratch for $736 on eBay with around 75 bids.

It depends on what it is.. Cellular iPads are starting at $950+so selling a used one for $200 less is a good deal.

I actually made money on mine.

Mine is just the base 64gig model without cellular. I was hoping to pair it with the Smart Keyboard and get a decent amount to put towards the 12.9 inch base model. I understand I will take a hit due to the fact its used (but perfect) and is selling for under the initial retail price, presently.

Except that $736 cost you $74 in eBay fees, $22 in PayPal fees and about $15 or so to ship. ebay fees are nuts.

I actually got lucky. The winner didn’t pay, I re-listed it and sent my private eBay link to 2nd chance offer buyer.. So I was able to get out of the eBay fees. A bad experience turned in to a good one lol.

And, I only paid $600 for it when I originally bought it to begin with..

It usually never works out this good though. And yes! eBays fees are ridiculous. A lot of people have closed down business due to crazy high 10% fees.

Sounds like what your selling, will eat up most of the 12.9” iPads cost. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

If you want a 12.9” then you know what you’ve gotta do.

Yeah it's so tempting right now since I can pick up the base model 12.9 for $850, as well! Not sure how long this sale will go on...

Regarding eBay fees, I don’t know what it’s like in other countries, but in the UK they regularly have £1 maximum selling fee promotions -

You have to opt-in first to be eligible.

It’s worth checking your account to see that you’ve enabled 'Selling fee promotions' in the ‘Communication Preferences’ section. It’s listed under ‘Promotions and surveys’.

Thanks for the suggestion! of course I had that offer.. but it expired yesterday!! Ill keep a look out though if another pops up ,that will save me some money!

Swappa's fees are far more reasonable than eBays. My advice is to be realistic in your pricing. I would start at $50 under the current Amazon sale price - and mention that explicitly - and be prepared to take $100 under the Amazon price.
