I hope my question makes sense…

I’ve just purchased a Studio Display and use it mostly with my Mac and occasionally with my iPad Pro.
I struggle with keeping my trackpad+keyboard synced between both devices. I’m forces to re-plug them every time I go from Mac to iPad, and then back again, Sure, I could just use my iPad Pro Keyboard, but I prefer to use the same for my Mac. It’s larger and more comfortable. I also don’t like putting aside my trackpad+keyboard to make room for my IPad attached to its own keyboard.

Why won’t it permanently remember its bluetooth setup? Just look at the AirPods. It’s also Bluetooth and sync across all devices. If I go from using them from my Mac to my phone, I’m not being forced to plug them in first, to make it re-learn bluetooth.

Any advice? Btw it took me 15 minutes to type this on the iPad Pro keyboard when plugged into my Studio display 👎👎👎👎

I kinda see your point about why don't they auto-switch like AirPods, but it has never worked that way and isn't likely to in future, so you might want to consider another solution.

What I'd do if I wanted a setup where you plug either one into the Studio Display and the mouse and keyboard just work, is to get a wireless mouse and keyboard that use USB dongles. You could plug the dongles into the back of the Studio Display, and then whatever device you had plugged into it would just work.
