Hey there wonderful Mac forum folk,

I am hoping I can get some advice or if this scenario has been posted a million times that you point me in the right direction for a guide on how to get Bootcamp working on a Mac Pro 5,1 on Mojave with a upgraded video card (so I don’t get the pre boot screens).

I seem to remember reading a few months back that trying to setup and day to day operation of bootcamp on the 5,1 with the not factory VCard in 2020 was not as simple as I would hope.

Lastly, I am ok with paying for additional software or hardware if that eases the process or if having a dedicated SSD solely for Windows makes a difference I could do that also.

is it doable, any advice or pointing me to a recent guide would be very appreciated.

That’s awesome thanks

so Opencore will let me use bootcamp to then get windows?

Reason I ask is because I thought Mojave closed off bootcamp to unsupported Macs of which 5,1 was one.

I don’t know opencore (will find out all about it now) but is one of the features that it restores Bootcamp access along with the boot screen?
