I am going abroad for a long period, so am offloading my 2009 2TB iMac which currently holds around 1.5TB iTunes library: Movies, Music, Apps...the lot, and taking my 2015 1TB 13" MBP with me.

I was thinking of copying my iTunes Library to three Seagate Backup Plus portable drives which are not too big. 2.5" drives I think.
The idea being to take two with me, keep both regularly updated for safety in case one fails, and leave the third one at home, which although will gradually become outdated, will at least have my whole library up until I depart.

I also have a WD My Passport Pro 2x2TB T'bolt drive at home which I could possible use as my "at home failsafe" which I can use RAID 1.

Any advice or suggestions on my plan? What might I do to improve it please folks?
