Affiliate programs?

Have any of you used affiliate programs, either through your own websites or just through ads, to promote online products for a commission? I am starting to look into this, and I was curious to hear any success (or nightmare) stories anybody might have....not just the hype I see on affiliate sites about how I can make a zillion dollars in my underwear. Believe me, nothing in my underwear is worth a zillion dollars....

I have used affiliates before, I have had decent success with them and the ones I recommend checking out are Amazon Associates, LinkShare, and Commission Junction. If you have any other questions let me know.

Well, I would prefer affiliates rather than services like Adsense. I use affiliates myself, and mainly just implement the links into the text. The main problem with Adsense is that you'll have ads that become obtrusive on the reader. There 's a lot of people who will never click on a Adsense advert, but would click on the text-links instead.

I use Tradedoubler and CJ on several sites, and the sites with the biggest traffic are making a total of approx. 2.500$ a month.
