From one of the mods on the Affinity forum: --

"I know I'm arriving at this party very late (because I didn't see it until now...) but nobody is trying to 'not answer' anything and there are no 'difficult questions' - there are only questions that some moderators may not know the answer to as they're not privy to all information. I'll say this: I'm sitting next to the guys that are writing the DAM... It's a thing."

Serif definitely needs one. Adobe has Bridge to handle the files from their many different apps. Serif will need one to hand files from Photos, Designer, and Publisher....just for a start.

I keep hearing rumors that AP is going to be coming out with a DAM in 2018. Sort of like the length of time all complained about wanting a workbook or source guide and then AP (finally) came out with an excellent book in December 2017. Guess we just have to keep complaining like the red headed stepchild.

While that would be great, I seriously doubt that. Serif isn't good at keeping promised deadlines, as exemplified by the fact that Affinity Publisher is still not available. (In case no one remembers: all three apps (Designer, Photo and Publisher) were originally supposed to be released within one year.)

I somehow suppose that Serif is stretching themselves thin, with all the projects they have running at the same time (Designer, Photo and Publisher for Mac, Designer, Photo and Publisher for Windows, Photo and Designer for iPad, now the DAM…).

To be fair, Designer and Photos did come out within 12 months of each other. I did not hear about Publisher until much later, so I do not know there.

Software deadlines as a whole are - questionable at best, but Serif does release good products in my experience.

Oh, don't get me wrong: Serif's products are top notch. I absolutely love Affinity Designer and Photo, and I don't doubt Publisher or the DAM won't be anything but great. But I just have learned to don't believe in any timeframe they are giving.

Publisher for instance had its public beta allegedly almost for sure coming some time in 2015, the end of 2016, and the end of 2017. The most recent date given is summer 2018. For realsies this time.

Yeah, we'll see.

Yeah, we'll see.

iOS not the premier platform?

Where's Affinity for Android?

Oh, here it is:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.collegemobile.affinity&hl=en_GB

Though I can't edit photos with it....

Serif must not be a premier developer then for it to publish on iOS only at this time.
