Affinity Designer - Save Format

I'm considering buying this program but before I do - does it have the ability to save as AI version 8? I'm using an older vinyl cutter that uses an old program (can't upgrade) limiting me to opening only 2 files type and only as older versions. Thanks!

AI is a propriety format of Adobe. Most other software use PDF in it's place. will that vinyl cutter work with PDF?

Affinity will not save AI8 files.
