For those looking for something that can spank Apple Photos, at least in image adjustment capability, or a cheaper alternative to Photoshop, check it out. I'm pretty sure they'll have a demo, and the release candidate beta might still be available as well.
The good news is that it has a Media Browser which can reach into Aperture, iPhoto, or Photos libraries, and also into folders. The bad news is that at least for me it isn't working with 10.10.4 Photos, although they're working on it.
