Is 11.1 safe to upgrade to now? I read there were a lot of problems on launch.

my m1 mbp is running smooth with 11.0.1 (came pre installed). Battery life is amazing, Bluetooth works, no complaints whatsoever, except for auto AirPods switching.

just updated my 12 pro to 14.3 and am noticing battery drain now. Seems like lately Apples OS updates are riddled with some kind of bugs. Gone are the fully tested OS releases it seems.

I don't have an M1 but I would love to own one but putting my 2 cents in here with a question I used to ask my customers before I moved to sales "Do you have a backup?" Then someone else can answer the upgrade questions.

I'm running 11.2 beta on the mini. Since the M1 is so new. The latest update usually fixed early issues. then if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

I upgraded my air to 11.1 right away. Since I didn't really use it before upgrading, I can't say for certain if it fixed or introduced any new bugs, but 11.1 is definitely buggy in some weird ways, not related to the m1 processor at all.

My M1 MBP was having some external display issues and wake from sleep issues, and had read that 11.1 helped, so I updated when the RC was released and haven’t had any major issues since. Looking forward to a potentially very stable 11.1.1, though ;-)

I upgraded my M1 Mac Mini to 11.1 in short order... since trying to get a bootable external drive wasn't working with 11.0.1, I figured I had nothing to lose. And, lo and behold, I finally got a working bootable external drive... via the USB-A port with a USB-A adapter for my WD My Passport 500GB SSD drive (and a few other steps). Fear not... 11.1 is a step in the right direction. ;)

If you use any of the newer features like VMs, Docker or Crossover you'll want to update. They all work better with the 11.1 update. Other than that, if you aren't having problems, there is no rush. Having said that, I haven't seen any problems that can be attributed to 11.1. It seems more or less the same. Most of the problems that I had at 11.0 still appear periodically much less 11.0.1.
