iPhone X After 11.3 update, cant play radio unless app open and visible

I listen to an app called "Progressive Voices", it is the only way I can listen to a specific show, Randi Rhodes.

Anyway until now I could open the app, start listening and then when my 30 second display option caused the screen to go black, it would continue playing.

Until the 11.3 update, now it goes off when the app is no longer visible.

I wrote to the app people but is there an IOS fix?
