Hi,

After 20 years of PC computing, I am a brand new, virgin, Apple Mac user (OSX Lion). It took me about 1 hour to fall in love with Mac computing. But, I'm a newbie and I'm having some troubles. Can you all help/provide links/ etc for some of my questions?:

1. I have successfully migrated a test file/document from my PC to my Mac. Or so the migration assistant tells me . . . but I cannot now find the file on my Mac! Can anyone tell me where migrated files are found on the Mac?

2. I successfully set up a mail account, but Mac Mail did not import (or recognize) the mail sub-folders I use in my business. Mac Mail only shows my Inbox and my Sent folder. How do I get it to recognize all of my mail folders from Hotmail?

Those are the two most pressing questions I have right now . . . Thanks!

Regarding your files, the best way should be for you to manually transfer your files. Anyway, you can search for them in spotlight, its the lens at the top right corner

A short cut is Command-space, simply use your both thumbs and you are in spotlight.

If you want to get all your folders imported you would have to be connecting to a service like Gmail (imap) or an Exchange server as POP won't do this normally. However you will find only your inbox, drafts, inbox and trash at the top (under Mailboxes) while the folders will be lower down under the accounts.

What I did on my PC computer was kept my PC online with the PC drives shared. I was able to jump into the drives from the mac and drag all the stuff I needed right over to my PC. I also setup Remote Desktop Connection just in case I needed to log into windows.

I did a complete export of my Outlook mail, and bookmarks beforehand.
