I had one of those 9c68 screens with the yellow tint, and it failed the color gradient test big-time.

I returned it for another with th 9c67 screen. The difference is like night and day (No yellow tint, even backlight, and best of all smooth gradients on the color lcd test).

I am now happy.

I am so worried now, I ordered mine online...if it has a major issue, I don't know what I will do.

Suddenly I feel so blessed to get a 9c67 screen first time :)

Does anyone know the people that bought their mbp's online if they are able to take them to a local apple store instead of sending it back in? Also, does having bought it through the adc store affect it?

Sorry if i'm a little off topic, I just realized I don't want to be stuck with a terrible display.

I also have the 9C68 and I agree tha it is the most flawless thing I have ever set my eyes on as well.

In the other thread I kinda am thinking that everyones over reacting. Glad someone else is enjoying there 9C68.

How do you determine the type of display you have?

Addendum: Figured it out; I have a 9C67. It is beautiful.

I wonder if it makes a difference if it is a glossy or non glossy screen? Mine is the glossy one. I also considered after seeing so many different posts talking about issues, if it could be their particular 8600 chip itself. Has anyone with screen issues tried hooking up an external display to see if it is yellow as well?

Hey iW00t, im sorry if this is obvious, but the screen shot was not quite helpful to me. I am supposed to get my first macintosh this Tuesday, so I am not familiar with the menus.

Could you please tell me how to get to that screen where it displays the model of the LCD? Thanks!

System Preferences ->
Displays ->
"Color" Tab ->
Click "Color LCD" ->
Click "Open Profile" ->
Scroll down to the "Tag" that says "mmod"

Look through the data to see what model you have.

I personally have a 9C78 and have been using the profile fix for it. Switching back to the default profile now for me makes me kinda of go ewwwwww. It's not bad, but the colors are much richer with the modded profile.

Why don't you wait until you get it then figure it out.

It's not like he used some special magic...
