After failure installing Monterey won't download

Ran the installer for Monterey. Everything was fine until Imac (27" Late 2015) froze and wouldn't restart. I used power button to restart- still had Big Sur. I trashed the installer thinking it might be corrupt. Now I can't download it. It just spins forever whether I use app store or from prefs. Any advice is appreciated.

maybe you can reformat and reinstall big sur and then upgrade to Monterey.
Alternatively, try download standalone installer on other computer and copy it to imac.
third, create a new user and try upgrading from there.
