ok so i ran the jailbreak it went fine (or so i thought) then i installed cydia/rock/sn0w and just now noticed my wifi is no longer being detected.

doesnt how up in the list of networks.

i had jailbroken before and noticed that my phone (3GS) would never use wifi instead would fall back to 3G.

already tried resting network settings and a reboot (as suggested by geohot) though to no avail

did my searching nothing came up for recent jailbreaks only one for 2.1 FW
any ideas?

Take sim out. Reset network settings. Only way it works for me and everytime I do a reboot I need to go through this procedure as I have a 3GS.
Let me know if that helped. ;-)

I had the same issue where Reset Network Settings didn't work, uninstalled blacksn0w and reinstalled it (both via Cydia) and it worked like a charm.

anyime you reboot you have to do this? sounds like more of a headache then i want.

i restored to factory settings, i will try again tommorow and see what happens.

the first time i JB'd with geohot's Blackra1n my wifi diminished and and would always fall back onto 3G.

No, it should not happen every time you reboot. You are having the WiFi issue that 10-20% of blacksn0w users have. For many a single reset solves it; for others it can be a periodic nuisance. Usually it can be fixed with some combination of Reset Network Settings, turning Airplane Mode on and then off, and resetting. Keep trying and it will come back. Probably.
