After Installing OS X EL CAPITAN....External Disks

I just updated my OS to OS X EL CAPITAN......unable to see my external disks connected to my IMAc.....

All the boxes are checked in FINDER PREFERENCES...
Also checked thru DISK UTILITY.......the two disks are graded and unable to do anything on them......

Can anybody help

Try a NVRAM reset. I had a similar issue with Yosemite not recognising an external drive on my iMac, which it had previously back up to, that sorted it out for me.

Im having problems transferring data onto my external hard drive after upgrading the drive connects fine but I cannot transfer anything onto it i thinks its become read only but it was working fine before upgrade. Any suggestions?
