I restored my iphone before jailbreaking it and set it up as a new one. Now that it's jailbroken how do I restore all my texts and contacts?

I did sync it but since it's been set up as a new iphone it doesn't get my contacts back.

If you backed it up (synced it with iTunes) before you restored it then your up-to-date contacts will be in the Address Book app on your mac. all you do then is plug your newly jailbroken iphone in, go to itunes, click on the 'Info' tab and make sure 'Sync address book contacts' is checked.

You can only recover your contacts if you had them synced with a program like Address Book before you restored. They are not part of the backup created by iTunes.

I'm on windows vista and I'm seriously starting to think everything's gone.

nope. that means they're gone?

Yes, I'm afraid so. Contacts are not part of an iTunes backup. Like music, videos, etc., they are synced with your computer, not backed up to it. Make sure you set up iTunes to sync your contacts to Windows Address Book to avoid this problem in the future.

sh*t happens. doesn't matter. ill just enter the ones i know manually
