OK, heres my problem. I CANNOT change my sms tones to anything but "sms-received1.caf". I copied all six tones to a folder on my descktop and they all play properly - so they are not corrupt. When I preview a tone it plays, but when I select it to be the sms tone I get the tone that is in the "sms-received1.caf" spot. It is actually more complex than this but I won't bore you. This is really bugging me.
I am thinking about restoring my phone and re-jailbreaking it. I haven't done it in a while so I can't remember exactly what happens but here is my question. After I jailbreak my phone will be "wiped" all clean and new right? Then I need to sync it right to get all my settings etc. back, right? I am worried that whatever is keeping me from being able to change my sms tones is stored on this back up that I will be syncing from - so I'm thinking of biting the bullet and not syncing and just starting over from scratch.
If I don't sync it and instead just "start over" and manually set it all back up will I tunes remember that I have already purchased whatever app's I add manually?
Also, will google keep all my contacts and appointments on their servers? Then I would just need to re-set up an exchange account to sync these right?
Are there any downsides that you all can think of to setting my phone up from scratch again? Besides the work?
Thanks, this is really bugging me.
