After location service for particular apps is disabled......

Would it mean that under any circumstance an apps wouldn't be able to keep a record of my location?

I have been hearing that there could be backdoor for some apps especially those created and provided by giants that they will be able to access your location even if location service is turned off.

Is it real?

Yes, it's real. Disabling Location Services basically means preventing access to your location determined by GPS, Bluetooth, and crowd sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower locations. Your general location can still be inferred by other means, especially by IP address.

As a quick example, disable location services and then search "where am I" in your favorite search engine. It'll most likely show at least your city. If you use a VPN or iCloud Private Relay, then it could show the location of where that IP address is based. (Also, iCloud Private Relay only works for Safari. It does not apply to any other app.)

I read a tech article that some apps could request a user's location for up to hundreds or thousands of times in an hour, even if the user is not using the apps and it is running in the background. It obviously means kinds of request that the user may not know. In that case, by disabling location services, is it true that the best those secret ways of getting one's location is also only the approximate location or city, but not anything precise? Thank You
