..my 2.2 SR Glossy has finally arrived! Having upgraded from 1.83CD MBP i have to say...wow. First off, GLOSSY IS AMAZING! Seriously though it's amazing, the reflections are worth the super awsome screen bonus. I recieved a week 28 and glad to say no dead pixels or yellowing. However, i do have that noise-in-headphones thing. Overall i'm loving the new laptop! It's silent, like amazingly silent. Several leaps greater than my 1.83 MBP.

Geekbench score of 2989, beats the 17" 2.33! Hehe.

Only thing that ticked me off was the shipping time but i guess it's worth it for having a PERFECT mbp!

Great news - did you transfer your documents and settings from your previous Mac using the installer that appears when you first boot up your new Mac or you just do it manually?

I'm curious to how well the transfer works.

I actually transfered my old info to an external harddrive before i sold it. I then just dragged the folders into this one and everything is working fine. I needed the funds from the old to buy the new one really. Sorry couldn't be of more help.

NICE! I just got my 2.2 MBP glossy aswell! I love it and am amazed by the quality.. no problems by the way and I have an LG screen!

Congrats !!! Just wondering when you ordered, what was the estimated wait time?

Thanks Thomas I updated it!

Okay you guys i think i spook too soon. :( My superdrive can't read dvds! I tried playing V for Vendetta and it couldn't play it. It says "This DVD cannot be played, file format cannot be recognized". I tried again and again to no avail and said maybe it's the dvd. I tried playing Accepted, again no go. I then ran downstairs and tried them on my Windows desktop and both worked without a hitch. Uggh...damn, so close.

To mjerald: I ordered it on the 17th of June from my campus reseller. I didn't get a tracking number but I do know that the order was delayed several times. It was suppoused to ship on the 26th then was pushed to the 2nd then pushed to the 5th then finally pushed to the 10th. So it's a long wait...but if it wasn't for the friggen superdrive it would have been worth the wait. Also keep in mind that at the time i ordered the waiting time was 5-7 days to ship, it took 'em 17 business days to ship.

Edit: Found out that a simple "repair permissions" fixes this issue! It shouldn't have occured in the first place but at least it's an easy fix.
