Other After new iPhones come out, what is the best bang for the buck used iPhone?

I want to upgrade my mom's iPhone after the 11 comes out next week. I'm guessing the XR will probably be the best bang for the buck (if I can score one for $400 used I will be happy). I am also considering an iPhone 8 since she has an iPhone 6 and is used to Touch ID but if a used one goes for $400, I'm probably better off just getting the XR.

Or should I consider getting a X since she has a 6 and is used to the small size? When the XS came out, I was able to score a used X for $600. I'm guessing the XS will drop to that price when the 11 comes out so $600 is a little too expensive. If I can score a used X for $450 at this point, I might consider that as well.

Have you had her try the XR to figure if she can deal with the size?
That would be my pick when buying used.

iPhone 7 is THE choice if budget is the primary concern. It'll do everything the newer more expensive phones can except for a few camera filters. It'll run iOS 13 too

It looks like Swappa currently has the X and the XR for $450. I didn’t sort through it to see how many and what carriers and condition and whatnot, but I would imagine those prices will drop after the 11 comes out.

I vote for the X rather than the XR.
