Hi I am running evasi0n on 6.1, iphone 5. everything was working great, no jb issues whatsoever and all tweaks compatible. I downloaded a lockscreen theme, which consequently installed winterboard (an app i'd like to avoid at all costs). Therefore, I returned to cydia to uninstall. After unistalling, it rebooted, but now i am stuck in apple logo boot screen. Searching around, it seems the only choice is restore, which I would like to avoid. Does anyone know of any possible fix, or do I just have to restore?

All my search results returned issues from iphone 4's and 3gs's, so I was hopeful perhaps there is a work-around for 5 and 6.1.

thanks

Try rebooting by holding down Home and Power simultaneously until the screen turns black. That should fix it. It's a known issue with Evasi0n which can be fixed with an update.

Otherwise, try holding volume up to force a restart into Mobile Substrate Safe Mode. That may allow you to uninstall conflicting packages.

Did the latest patch in cydia fix this issue?

I guess not, I had the patch installed.

I've tried hard resetting but it simply resets and becomes stuck at the bootscreen. Can't access safe mode either.

Thanks for the quick reply though.

I'm in the same position...were you able to get it in Safe mode at all?

Twice over a period of 3 or 4 hours. But it didn't do me any good because if I tried re-springing or restarting after trying to delete or edit anything, it would go back to boot so i just restored.

Same thing happened to me, installed a lockscreen and enabled it in winterboard (wb was working fine). Stuck in reboot mode, couldn't boot into safe mode either so I am currently restoring... So unfortunate, spent the last 5 days installing tweaks etc.

fml. Not using winterboard again.

just to confirm... the issue occures ONLY when trying to uninstall winterboard?

Not to me. I simply downloaded a lockscreen, enabled it in winterboard, resprung, and before it could respring it got kicked into an eternal boot.

So, may not be a problem with winterboard itself, since I was using it beforehand fine. But a problem with lockscreen themes with an incompatible tweak/mod.

It just sunk in how much time I'm going to consume re-syncing, jailbreaking, tweaking, ALL over again. ugh.

i see. wud u be kind enough to mention this perticular lockscreen theme? just so others and I avoid using it.

I can confirm that I was able to use winterboard, and the problem only happened to me AFTER uninstalling.

Bootloop at Apple logo.

I just ended up restoring the phone.

Even after restoring, and rejailbreaking, I had a problem with battery life and wifi dropping. Not sure if winterboard caused this.

Had the boot loop problem earlier, last thing I had installed was the copy text from Facebook tweak which had been working but when I rebooted it just looped even after about 10 hard resets & a lot of waiting :(

Entering safe mode with the volume button & uninstalling the tweak & exiting safe mode worked for me first time.
