When I go to the Updates tab in the App Store:

Yet if I search Pages and open the Pages page, I get the update button

I recently set up my Mac by restoring from a Time Machine backup via Migration Assistant. Any idea why this would be happening? macOS 12.4, 14" MBP.

I'd just delete the Apps and reinstall them from the App Store, see what happens the next time there's an update.

It's a bug,
All my Intel Macs are the same, but my M1 Mac is ok.
Search for the App manually at the App Store, don't click on "Open" click on the name, then do the update.

Have you tried @kitKAC 's suggestion of deleting the apps and re-downloading them?

I know how to update them manually; my concern is more that I won't be able to get app updates regularly because I won't know what to check manually.

I think you have to reauthorize the apps. I just migrated from a Mac mini M1 to a Mac Studio and had to reauthorize them. They updated last night.

Search for them in the App Store and try to download/open it. It'll ask you to authorize them (basically agree to their terms).

Open them from the App Store? I've opened them from my dock without any authorization prompts. Can't recall if I've tried opening from the App Store

I had to authorize them in the App Store. I don't think AS will check for updates until you authorize them. They may run even without authorizing them since you previously authorized them. Try going through App Store and see if it helps.
