Hello, after update to iOS 11 iPad mini 2 wont rotate and is super slow? Anyone else with same issues? If any can I re-update to iOS 10?

Could still be indexing and doing background tasks. It could take a day or so to settle down.

I've a mini 2 and not sure if I will update to 11 yet. I'll get feedback from others before I commit!

I had this issue on one of the previous versions of the beta (5 I think?). But the last two versions are running very smoothly for me. Well, as smoothly as you could expect from almost 4 year old hardware. As said above, probably just needs to settle down.

Hmm.. the latest beta is running very well on my Mini 4 - noticeably better than the previous betas so far. I’ll install on my Mini 2 when I get home next week and see how that goes.

Next week! Where are you to keep you from home so long?

iOS 11 is awful on iPad mini 2. I've never seen so many lags, crashes and slowdowns since the day I bought this iPad (on day 1 4 years ago). I would not update.

I got an iPad 10.5 and after the last couple of upgrades to iOS 11. I notice mine rarely rotates correct. Tried reinstalling, and reset. Seems to be a glitch.

that's because it's a mini 2. Apple doesn't really support older machines. They say they do but then they run super slow. Prob needs mini 3/4 to see it run decent. iPhone 6 will prob run the same somewhat slow since they are going to optimize for newer devices always.

I had this problem on an iPad Air 2 occasionally with previous betas but a reboot would fix it and I have not noticed this issue lately on Public Beta 8 or Public Beta 9.

I’ve experienced issues with iPPv1 and auto-rotate not working correctly while on iOS 11 Public Betas. The issues usually involved the lock screen (e.g., screen refusing to orientate itself correctly when woken up). They seemed to disappear in Public Beta 8 or so, for me.

Regarding the Mini 2, mine seems to be running fairly well on the latest iOS 11 Public Beta; a bit slow all around for sure. I’ve enabled the “Reduce Motions” and “Reduce Transparency” settings though I can’t say for certain whether they help.

I haven’t really noticed any glitches or major slowdowns since I did it to my mini 2 it does go a little slower than the newer iPads but it’s not a deal breaker.

I’ve been having this problem, while not very often, on my 10.5 since one of the previous betas. When I first wake it up randomly, it doesn’t rotate until I put it to sleep then wake it up. It’s not terrible, but somewhat annoying.

Generally, updating to the newest version of the software on an older device will slow down the device. This is the last software the iPhone 5s supports so I'll download it and see how it is. If you can I'd recommend downgrading back to iOS 10, there's some tutorials on YouTube showing you how to. Once downgraded don't update to iOS 11 when it's fully released. Just stay on iOS 10.3.3 as that's what runs well on your device I'm sure.
