I just upgraded to the 2.0 firmware. My contacts and other settings have gone back what I had many many months back. I have not sync'd my iphone for a few months. When I plugged in my iphone, it went through the update to the latest itunes plus the firmware. It took a long time and I just let it do its thing. When it all came back, none of my contacts were there. I did a manual sync and now my contacts are from probably last September. I thought it would have automatically sync'd my iphone before the upgrade ( it said something to that effect, I thought ). Can I do anything to bring my contacts and other settings back or they are gone forever? Please HELP!!

bump...

I can still use some help..

While upgrading to iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0, would it have automatically sync'd my iPhone? I forgot to do that myself explicitly. Currently I am without my contacts after the upgrade. It is pulling in some old data. I am wondering if there is a way to recover the old data. Thanks for any help.

Please don't bump threads, thanks... especially only after less than half an hour.

He didn't.. it had been more than 24 hours.

As for your question, I think you are out of luck.

It only backs up contacts with you sync and unless you have your phone setup to sync automatically when connected, you have to do it manually.
