Mac OS 10.12.6 on iMac 5k, iPhone 7, iTunes 12.8. After I upgraded my iPhone to IOS 12 When I hook up my iPhone I get a message that a Software upgrade is required to use iTunes with this iPhone. Anyone know what this software upgrade is? I tried it with High Sierria and same thing. Can I fix this?

It’s a software upgrade to make iTunes recognize iOS 12 when it asks to upgrade say yes or when Mojave is released it’s already there.

I had the same thing happen but even Apple couldn’t tell me exactly what it is - I was on the phone with them at the time. There was no choice but to install it if I wanted to have my phone and iPad recognised.
