After upgrading to 10.10.4 lower operating temperature

I've noticed that after upgrading my MacBook Pro 15 (Mid 2015) to Mac OS X 10.10.4 my computer temperature (CPU Core1 from iStat) is running around 3C - 5C lower than before, closer to the lower ~30C range now.

Have you noticed any difference on yours? Thanks

My late 2010-MBA is running hotter. Usually just browsing in Safari and having another app open I run at 110-115F, now I am running about 5-10F hotter.

Just after setup there will be background work, after 2 days mine is running very cool

I understand that, if you look in some other posts I have responded to...I tell people to remember that after a fresh install or upgrade that indexing and what not will be doing its thing in the background and the computer will run hotter. I know how OS X works, I was just responding to your post honestly telling you that as of now, my computer is still running hotter than normal.

That is a pretty impressive CPU temperature, as 30C converts to 84F. Is this under load or just idle? My MBA coming out of idle is around 90F and once I start browsing and what not is on average at about 112-118F, however, since you have the newest Intel CPU's and I have the Core 2 Duo from 4 years and change ago Intel obviously got the thermal ratings down.

I am still not sure if I should update from 10.10.3 to 10.10.4. I just do not want to break what is working well on my system now. Mine does not run hot on 10.10.3.

Not sure if cooler, but not hotter. Sitting around 34 with light use, GPU seems cooler at 37 instead of 42.

MBP late '11 17" x 2 SSD running a few degrees cooler under 10.10.4 -, also a little faster benchmark performance (from 11,500 to 12,000 now), mail shows improvement without having to constantly relog into Gmail ccount, pdf scrolling is now smooth (was horrible in 10.10.3), safari a tad snappier - cooler/ less CPU usage, boot up a smidge faster, windowserv and backgrd activity way down noticeable improvement all around..

Yes -mine has dropped to about 28C
