I am going to buy a new MacBook next week (after we see what happens at MacWorld). This will be the second Mac that I will have bought.

I know I will be able to port my pictures, music and junk to the my new machine. My question is: What about iWork '08 and other applications? Will I need a new license to use iWork on my new machine, or will that port too?

Is there anything else that I should know before I transfer my life to a new Mac? (Besides wait for next Tuesday.)

Thanks

TC

you should be able to just copy your entire harddrive via something like carbon copy to a portable HD and just transfer it to your new computer. with this it saves all your settings, application, files, etc so you dont have to reinstall everything.

Use Set Up Assistant and transfer everything by firewire soon after the initial startup of the new machine (it will ask you if you want to do this). Painless transfer of everything.
