Hey guys, so I have updated to iOS 12 on my iPhone 6S, I've replaced the battery a few weeks ago and now in the battery health tab it shows me that it's unable to determine the battery's capacity and that I need to service it. Battery life worsened a lot, I get 3.5 hours tops of screen on time, and that's just normal usage, compared to iOS 11 I would always get around 6.5 hours of screen time. When downgrading back to iOS 11 everything is normal again, battery health shows that it's at 100% and I get good battery life again. The battery is not original, I thought it might have a fake gas gauge circuit spoofing the batterie's capacity, but when I connect it to my computer Coconut Battery does show correct info of it, it was at 99.6% few weeks ago, now it's at 99,5%. Same thing happened to my cousin's phone, battery was also not original. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if they'll fix this or they just stopped supporting aftermarket batteries.

Apple won’t replace a 3rd party battery. If you still have the original, put it back in the phone and then take it in. If you don’t still have it, go back to where you got the 3rd party battery for a replacement

Battery health unknown
If iOS is unable to determine the device battery health, you'll see this message:

This iPhone is unable to determine battery health. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can service the battery. More about service options…

This may be due to having an improperly installed battery or an unknown battery part.

Tried an aftermarket battery in my MBA... never again am I buying an aftermarket battery for any Apple product. I’d rather pay a little more and stick with OEM. Apple can replace your OEM battery for $29... discount ends in December.
