Age Old Question ...

SO I need a new phone that (preferably) is a video iPod, Camera (Photo + Video), FM Radio and Loudspeaker. I understand the 3Gs doesn't have FM radio however I guess an App could fix that problem. I have owned a iPod Touch for 3 years now. After looking around I came to the conclusion that no other phone device (Blackberry's, Nokia, Sony etc) has all the features I want in an elegant simple package. I love my iPod Touch (however I am sick if the same interface) but I need new features (mainly Camera and Phone). I have a 24 inch last gen. iMac so iPhone would go together simple with the Mac I would imagine.

SO Should I buy now or wait until early next year? Do you ESTIMATE an update early next year? Possible redesign of any sorts? I agree with another post, I think the next iPhone will be 'iPhone HD' (compete with new features on the Zune HD). Not to fussed with HD features. I only care about physical redesign mostly or amazing new features we haven't thought off.

I can get a 32GB iPhone 3GS for about $849 (AUSTRALIAN). Apple sells them for over $1000

they are always released in June maybe early July if you can wait then wait there will be a hundreds of guesses what features Apple will release then but in most cases we fail btw I much prefer ootunes or wonderradio to having a fm receiver in my iphone I can get 1000's of stations vs getting a few just look for the WWDC conference here is a leaked pic of the 3GSI for 2010 really exciting!

The only time Apple released an iPhone that wasn't in the summer was the first year the 2G was out. The following February, they upgraded the 2G from 8GB to 16GB. Other than that, nothing new was added and it's been a summer release the last two summers.

THIS is the age old question? The questions you've asked have been asked and answered in numerous threads. You won't see a new iPhone until June or July.

Yeah I agree, it would seem to be June for an update. Maybe with the features that you mentioned: upgraded screen resolution, fm radio, and more?

So i guess like is mentioned around here all the time get it when you need it. You are just about at the midpoint of the product cycle, so you still would have at least 7 months b4 any refresh, if previous patterns hold.
