i seem to have either a stuck or dead pixel in my macbook. how can i tell if it is stuck or dead. and also what are some methods to revive a stuck pixel. (i have tried a damp cloth, massaging, and the flashy video thing)

Well then, it would appear as though you're (oh boy oh boy oh boy) stuck with it!

If it's always one color (red, green, blue, or occasionally some combination of two of those), then it's stuck. If it's always black, it's dead. That simple.

As for how to fix it, you've already tried everything that might work. You're down to options E and F: Try to get it replaced from wherever you bought it, or live with it.

well it seems to be red and blue, because it blends with those colors in the flashy video, but not green. so does that give me any hope

The flashy video thing is your best bet since its a "lazy" pixel, maybe you are using the wrong video, try other flashy video things, Sony had a pretty good one for lazy pixels in the PSP.

Yeah, if you aren't willing to convulse on the floor you obviously aren't worthy of an unstuck pixel.
