I really have a tough time believing that Tim Cook and his senior management let a "new hire" single-handedly be responsible for the initial launch of a first-of-its-kind Apple product, like the Apple Watch.
He (and his senior management) should have been involved in every aspect of this launch, including when pre-orders started, when try-ons started, how soon they'd be available to buy in the store, and how clearly the entire ordering process was explained.
They
all should be falling on their swords, not just the new person to the team.
