Hi folks,

I'm probably going to replace my old iPhone 6+ with a shiny new 8+ once the new iPhones are announced in the next few weeks.

I currently have a mix of music files including FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, WAV, AAC and MP3s. They're either purchased from various places or ripped from CDs. They all play back fine on my 6+ using the Music App and Onyko HF Player App. I'm wondering what will happen with my AIFF files on the 8+. They don't seem to be supported on the newer iPhones in the iPhone specs on the Apple Store site.

I'd appreciate any info from folks that have experience with various music file types on the newer iPhones. I assume I might need to re-rip my CD files in another file format.

Thanks!

AIFF is supported by iOS natively.
I hope you're right. It will save me a lot of time and effort re-ripping CDs.
I think AIFFs may be treated like a PCM file but the fine folks at the Apple Store didn't think so.
It is specifically not listed as a supported file type under iPhone 8 specs.
