Hey everyone,
Today I was on a call, AirPods 2 case was in my pocket. I felt like some insect tried to bite me, took the case out and saw some burn marks both on the case itself and it also managed to burn a hole through the pocket.

Earpieces were not inside.
Did anyone else encounter anything similar?
Do you think it’s ok to just replace the case or the full set?

Where did you buy these Airpods? How long have you owned them? Do you have an Apple store near you? In cases like these, Apple used to (not sure if they still do) immediately swap out units that could damage a person.

Nope. Would be so surprised if they were fake
Everyone is ;)

Fake AirPods are SO prevalent - if you didn’t personally buy them at an Apple Retail Store or from the Apple Online Store, I’d say “Fake” is the most likely scenario. But, get in touch with Apple. They’ll gather photos, and if you have an actual Apple Store nearby they’ll check them out. If they’re fake, they’ll tell you. And if they’re not, they’ll help.

install the apple support app shown below if you haven't already can be a good indicator of whether their fake or not but not a guaranteed solution.fwiw my neighbour who had fake ones the case burnt out on the sofa leaving a burnt mark..that said always possible the genuine ones can have this happen my case becomes very warm when on charge not classed as very hot ! ..
