I'm having this issue where word is draining my new Macbook Air 15's battery like crazy. I'm attaching a screenshot of the activity monitor here but I'm not sure how to exactly read it? I just know that my battery drained from 86% to 72% in less than an hour. I'm just using word and don't have many background processes running. What could it be?

That does seem bizarre. Have you tried closing out, rebooting, and starting it up again?

Surprisingly not yet lol. I did try reinstalling the whole office suite but that didn't work. Let me update and restart.

Is it the Office 365 version? If so, turn off WiFi and see if that helps. If so, there is a Word/Office preference about offline operations somewhere. Microsoft tends to rename and move that specific preference around.
