I gave my daughter my air 2 a couple years ago and yesterday it took a fall and shattered the screen. Im wondering if I should get the screen replaced or just buy her the new reg iPad from BB on sale for 249. Anyone have experience in screen replacement cost?

Hopefully you don't just toss the old one. I'm sure someone on eBay will buy it and fix it.
No, actually I may fix it and use it myself at some point. I have the 12.9 pro (1gen of them) and I like it but it is too combersome for home reading etc. so maybe at some point I’ll take it and get the screen fixed. (I have however been eyeing the 10.5 pro for myself...

Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, the Air 2 was the thinnest iPad Apple made. When they went to the cheaper iPad 2017 model, they went back to the original Air chassis. It's still thin, just not as much. I had an Air 2 at one time, and I really liked the size of it, so a screen fix would be a good idea.

Thank you, is there a speed difference with the newer one > the air 2?

The 2017 should be slightly faster. It uses the A9 SOC versus the A8X of the Air 2. Screen is also slightly brighter, but otherwise there's not much difference other than the thickness/weight.

There should be a negligible speed difference, and with respect to the screen, the air 2 has a superior laminated one whereas the reg iPad has a two layer display. Also Air 2 is thinner.
