iPad Air 2 iPad OS = suddenly unusable?

Hey everyone. So I know as with all betas it’s “install at your own risk”. That said, it’s been mostly good so far. However, I don’t know if a new update was pushed out while I was asleep but over the last few days, typing is unbelievably slow. As in, type all the letters, wait 5-10 seconds and they all splurge out. It’s not in all instances. I mean I’m writing this post on the iPad and it’s fine. But messenger, searching for things in chrome or safari...just can’t do it anymore. Anyone else had a similar experience?

General speed is okay otherwise. Have noticed it’s getting very hot though.

iPad Air 2 came out in 2014 with 2GB and anywhere from 16GB up.
It is probably trying to do a lot of churning.
Depends on how much free space perhaps.
I found typing was better without 3rd party keyboard Gboard on my Mini 5.

Yeah, tried - no luck unfortunately! Also tried a number of fixes from previous versions for keyboard lag (resetting dictionary, clearing iCloud Documents and Data). At this point it's basically boned. I'll see what happens when the public release hits and probably try a full reset as a last resort but I'm not getting good vibes haha.

I think mine is a 32 or 64? It's definitely got free space, I know that much. Weird thing is that it *was* okay. Then one day it just...wasn't. So no idea what to do really. Other than, as I said in my other reply, wait for public release and hope that I don't end up having to chuck this in the bin and buy another.

Maybe an app that got updated just recently that doesn’t work with iOS 13b?

I wish it was possibly to do a full iOS system install, not just the b4 “delta” - more like macOS.

I’d uninstall or off load apps then reinstall. I do find when my iPhone X is sluggish to close all open apps. And the Air has half the memory, and memory management is not feeling optimal.

Can I just suggest, being an older model, if it doesn’t improve around release go back to iOS 12 while you still can. Apple is continually shortening its “roll back” window and once it closes you’re forever stuck on the newer software; regardless of how good it is for your device!

Hey there - oh dang I didn't even know it was possible! I'd read an article that said it was a one-way thing. Is it easy to do? Because I'll do it right now.

It's a bug, Air 2 continues to be fine. Not the fastest but more than fine for most uses.
