air pods pro 2 say nearby but won't ping

I have lost my air pods pro 2. I think it's more likely than not they are somewhere inside my condo but it won't ping. When I Open the Find Me app, it says it is at my current address and Now but when I go to play a sound it won't connect or show a location when I walk around with the find nearby option. I'm really perplexed. If it says they are at my address and Now, then why won't it ping? If it can't connect then I would think the find me app would give a "last located" time or something to that effect, not Now. Any suggestions?

OK, I found them. I rebooted the phone and then it would ping and play a sound.
