hi....just downloaded this great app called air share (or as it is described) I have a few questions perhaps someone could help me with

1) I am getting the feeling that this app is acts almost like a small portable USB drive (except no plug in required). So one would then assume in order to walk around and share files from my PC to , lets say mine at work, both would need wifi...correct?

2) in the instructions, it recommends that that i use the IP address of Jabber. I dont have a jabber account, so must i default to the displayed ip address

tks

It is like a wireless USB/Flash Drive, Air Share gives you an address to type in. The address should look something like this http://192.168.1.8:8080

That is the address you would enter in the Connection window in Mac by pushing Command + K. I am not sure this all works on windows try their web site for more help...

yes it supports pdf files. What problem are you having?

I can see my PDF files in the application. I left them in folders. However, when i select the file, it only show me a gray out blank screen. No data or anything on it. Seems weird to me....

If the pdf is too big the app will crash if its big but not too big to display it will just take a little longer to load.

I just tried using Airshare with my PC running vista for the first time and its unbearably slow transferring files from my phone. I have used it on the same network with my 7 year old laptop and it works fine. Is this just how it works with vista or is there a setting I need to adjust?

To the OP - it's sort of like a thumbdrive/flashdrive but better because you can view many file types on the phone such as documents and pictures.

Mine transfers very fast. I'm on Vista 64 bit. No problems at all.

Yeah I'm on Vista and have no issue and transfers are fast, I have about 7 pdf's from my work in there. Whats your issue, maybe we Vista users can help.

Slow Transfers

I really don't know much more about it other than how slowly it transfers files. It also takes a while when I connect to the phone to just read whats on there. The folder comes up and looks empty for a good 30 seconds. After that I can navigate folders fine. I transfered about 3 MB worth of ringtones that I had downloaded at work and it took at least 10 minutes.

It works fine with my old laptop running XP but the vista PC is the one I sync my phone with so I need it to work on there for me to be able to bring songs and ringtones home from work that I want to put on my phone.

Can't get Air Sharing working!

I bought this promissing application but I can't get it to work! I have a MacBook. I go to Finder, Go, Connect to server, then introduce the http://192.168.1.103:8080, but my computer says "you cannot connect to this server because it cannot be found on the network. Try again later or try a different URL". I've also tried the bonjour, without success. Can someone help me? Thanks!
