Air Sharing Copy Error code -1401

Dear forum users,

I bought an iPod Touch 2G 32GB this weekend and I am very happy with it. So far all went well. Tomorrow, my wife wants to use it for reading some pdf books. I read about the positive reviews on the "Air Sharing" app and installed it. It does connect to my Macbook Pro and also my Powerbook G4, even though it takes some time, and I can read and download the sample files on the laptops. However, when I try to copy anything to the iPod it creates an empty file there, which I can obviously not open and after a while I get following error message on the computer:

The operation cannot be completed because one or more required items cannot be found.
(Error code -1401)

I googled the problem but I seem to be alone in this matter. Most people have a flawless Mac experience and if they have issues with Air Sharing it typically is a Windows problem. On my Mac I did allow File Sharing in my System Preferences, rebooted both computer and iPod and reinstalled the Air Sharing application. Whatever I try, I cannot get it to copy files from Mac to iPod. I wonder if it's an issue with the Touch 2G but in that case I am surprised nobody else posted about it yet.

Any suggestion is welcome and appreciated.

The place I work uses a proxy server that uses the port 8080. The Macbook was manually set up with the proxy web address on this port. Since the network location settings were set to automatic, I think that OSX was confused on the use of this port (hence the error messages when trying to copy files over) as it is usually used for accessing the work network. This is pure intuition by the way as I'm no computer expert.

I created a new location "home" in OSX network settings and reconnected the macbook to the home network from there. I don't expect I'll be able to use the Air sharing app at work but I can live with that ;-)
