Okay, it took me 2 days -- hours and hours just to get it set up. I FINALLY have it synced to my Iphone/Mac -- but ANYTHING I send in from Word will NOT open. And everything I have on my computer that I want to read on the phone is in Word. It shows up on the phone in the folder and everything, it just won't open at all. And these are 1 or 2 page documents. I've tried saving in different formats -- pdf, rich text, plain text. ??

PLEASE, somebody help me!!!

thanks!

On my end the set up only took like less than 3 minutes, so I don't know why yours took days or longer. If you need any help consult their support website found here, they know more since it's their product.

perhaps you can try saving it in .txt files.
or did you check if you're using the .doc format or the .docx format?

Well I had no problem with it. I set it up and was viewing a word document within a couple of minutes.

i've been using it with .xls and .png files so far and no problems for me. perhaps i'll try out a word document later and see how it goes. you might want to try a reinstall and see how it works out.

Are you using .docx? I don't know if that would be a problem since I don't use them, but .doc files work fine for me.

Hi Folks,

If you're having trouble getting up and running with Air Sharing I encourage you to take a look at http://www.avatron.com/support. Please post any issues you're having in the Forum and we'll try our best to get you up and running.

Most of the issues we encounter are network based, the iPhone isn't connected to the same wi-fi network as the computer, a firewall is blocking port 8080, a router/access point doing NAT. Common fixes are "forgetting" the Wi-Fi network on the iPhone and then reconnecting or Resetting the Network Configuration on the iPhone.

Assuming you are using OS X, this post is a step-by-step guide.

Regarding Word document support, some file types aren't supported by the iPhones built in Office document viewer. Air Sharing uses this to display Word documents. Does the file display correctly if you mail it to yourself and open it in the Mail App? If it does, please consider sending us a copy of the file so we can figure out why it isn't working in Air Sharing.

As darksx suggested, try saving the document in .doc, or exporting to PDF.

I don't frequent the boards here very often, so please stop by our support forum if you need more help.

Cheers, Mark.
