When I select "All Photos Data" in the iPhone Photos App, it is asking for approval on my Mac. When I approve it, each photo is sent to the Downloads folder, and each photo within a folder of the same name (i.e. IMG_0XXX)

When the "All Photos Data" is OFF, it is not asking for permission, just sends the photos and all files in the downloads folder.

It sounds small, but when transferring large amount of photos, when saving an event in one single folder, it's very annoying to do drag&drop for 150+ photos.

Apple Support, as always, a joke. They don't know, they don't think is an issue. It is clearly broken in Monterey, as in BigSur I didn't have these issues.

Any settings I should be changing? Anyone else facing the same challenge?

Thanks!

Did you find a fix? I figured I could import them with Photos and then move them to my desired folder, but photos imported that way don't have latitude and longitude metadata, which is a shame for my travel photos.
