MP 7,1 Airdrop doesn't work

Hey,

not sure if this belongs into the Catalina forum, but ever since I got my new machine, this has been bothering me, Airdrop doesnt work!

It shows up on my iphone reliably, but when I click send, just nothing happens. About two minutes later, I get a popup on the mac, telling that an airdrop was cancelled.

The other way around it doesnt even see the iphone.
What's also strange, it shows "visible for nobody." whenever I change it in the finder, it immediately switches back to nobody when I re-open that window.

If I disable bluetooth and turn it back on, it starts to work normally. Any Ideas for a permanent fix?

Both devices on the same wifi, bluetooth is on. It's obviously a fresh Install.
I never had any issues with the trashcan, and between ipads and iphone it works flawlessly. Any ideas?

I don't use air drop a lot but so far it has worked reliably on my MP7,1

Mine has work reliably so far, are you connected to a VPN? If so, disconnect and see if it works.

nop, no VPN. This is so strange, seems like some catalina bug. Do you guys know if there's some file that I can delete in the prefs maybe to reset the airdrop settings or so? It's strange that it constantly resets itself to "visible to no one".

do you have both devices in a good wifi network?

works on my cMP 5.1 (10.14.6) flawless

I can use Airdrop successfully both ways between my MP7,1 running Catalina macOS 10.15.3 Beta and my ancient iPhone 5C running iOS 10 . No problem at all ...

my 7.1 has airdrop issues as well.
