Airdrop don't work on Macbook Pro late 2011

Well thats the problem, i can't get airdrop to work on my MBP..... is it because of the bluetooth LE (4.0)?

My brother have a Macbook Air 13" early 2014 and airdrop works just fine for him.

I was on public beta 6 then i did a full instal of yosemite gm.....

Same issue

I have MBP (late 2011), and facing the same issue. It doesn't show my iPhone 5S. Perhaps, the same issue of Bluetooth! Grrrr

The late 2011 MBP does not have the right bluetooth card to Airdrop to and from iOS 8 devices.

I have the same issue. My MacBook Air mid 2011 doesn't connect with my iPhone 6 via airdrop.
