iPhone 6S with 11.2.5. Airdrop is not seeing my Macs with High Sierra. My Macs are not seeing the iPhone either. Both Macs can see each other, so the problem is likely to be the iPhone. Any ideas? I tried resetting the network settings, still the same.

Have you tried restarting both devices?

What year/model Macs do you have?

Though it has gotten better over the years, I find Airdrop to be very temperamental. Typically, I have to wait longer than I should for it to find my other devices or other people, and sometimes it won't find them at all. It's amazing when it works...but it doesn't always work for me.

OS X-to-iOS

AirDrop between OS X and iOS is supported by the following Mac models:

  • 2012 or later MacBook Air
  • 2012 or later MacBook Pro
  • 2012 or later iMac
  • 2012 or later Mac mini
  • Late-2013 or later Mac Pro
Sending files to iOS devices requires a Lightning-enabled iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 7 or later. Your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite or later installed. Furthermore, both your Mac and iOS device need Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on.

The Macs are 2013 and 2015 Macbook Pros. I have done Airdrop in the past and it worked.

Update: My mini 2 can airdrop with/from the Macs just fine. Only the iPhone is problematic.
I logged out iCloud and logged back in on the iPhone and Macs. Now the Macs can see the iPhone, but the iPhone still cannot see the Macs. The iPhone can only see the Mac if I set the Mac to everyone instead of contacts only, while the Mac can see the iPhone even when it's set to Contacts only.

This is usually an iCloud/Contacts issue. When I had this happen logging out of iCloud on the device that couldn’t see the other devices resolved it. If your phone is not seen as a contact by the Mac then the macs won’t be visible unless you change the setting on them to everyone. Apparently that is working for you so I’d still look at the phone as being the source of the problem.

Play around with Contacts on your phone and make sure your contact card is identical on Mac and phone and is designated as the “me” card. You might try turning Contacts off in iCloud settings on the phone and letting it delete all from the phone and then re-enable it. Or sign out again, as much as a hassle as that is.
