I can't Airdrop from my iPhone 11 to my M2 MBP 14" and it's driving me nuts.
I can't Airdrop from my iPad Pro to my M2 MBP 14"

I can Airdrop from my MBP 14" to my iPhone 11
I can Airdrop from my iPhone 11 to to my M1 iPad Pro 12.9" and my 2014 iMac 27"

I'm up to date on my OS as my MBP 14" has 14.1.2 and my iPhone 11 has 17.1.2

My Bluetooth is on both
My wifi is on both
My firewall is inactive on the MBP 14"

On your MacBook if you open a Finder window then click on AirDrop on the left side, at the bottom of the main window, what is the "Allow me to be discovered by" set to?

Contacts Only

I also tried Everyone and both don't work

FWIW my iPhone 11 shows up on the window in Finder > Airdrop on my MBP 14"

Also forgot to mention I'm signed in with Apple iCloud account on all machines

When I AirDrop to my Mac from the phone, it takes a few seconds before the transfer happens. What are you trying to AirDrop, files, web pages? Airdropped files go to my downloads folder automatically. Have you checked there?

So when I hit Airdrop it says "waiting" for about 30 seconds and then it says "failed" in red and of course nothing in the downloads folder because it won't Airdrop.

When I Airdrop from my iPhone 11 to the iPad Pro or iMac it's instantaneous. For some reason my MBP won't accept an Airdrop but it will send an Airdrop. I've been using "Messages" to transfer files. I'd like to use Airdrop

I can't think of many other ideas. Try cycling airdrop off then on. Try rebooting. Make sure BlueTooth is on. Cycle Bluetooth off then on.

Update

I tried setting Airdrop on my MBP to "Everyone" and it works

I don't know why it wouldn't work in "contacts" and I tried "everyone" before and it didn't work but it works now.

WEIRD
