I will soon be taking a lengthy flight and was considering one of these AirFly Pro devices so I can listen to the in-flight entertainment system with my APP2. Anyone have experience with it? Does it work well? I know there's another one, MEE Audio Connect. Is it better?

Thanks for any input.

Depending on the airline and aircraft amenities, you may not need this device. Most commercial airlines offer in flight Wi-Fi, both free (music/tv) or paid (internet). Check first before purchase.

The purpose of these devices is to allow APP2 to connect to the in-flight audio jack. It converts the audio to Bluetooth

Ha! Was trying to be a little sarcastic… guess you don’t have a cell phone.

although you can pair APPs to a non-apple bluetooth device, I don't think noise cancelling works when using regular bluetooth.

maybe someone else here can confirm.

I have the Airfly Pro in my car. It works well since the bluetooth in my Mini only works for phone calls. I even tried it once with my Ultra watch when I forgot my phone and it worked to my surprise.

NC does work.

As far as the AirFly, I've been using one with APP1/2 for roughly the last four years thanks to Delta. Good luck watching in-flight entertainment on your own device with Delta, and there were times that I didn't feel compelled to take my Plantronics Backbeat Pros with me (they have analog line-in built in when you don't have BT option). Short answer, order the AF Pro and run with it. The SE will suffice as well, it's like the older AF that I still use, but the Pro is just a few more clams and if you ever want/need to share the audio and/or use it as a BT input for an older device, it's nice to have it all available in one swoop.

One nice feature is that the batter life is much longer on the new versions, so you will be good to go from takeoff to landing without having to recharge. Your APP2 are another story... Bottom line, it works well and if you are bound to antiquated media setup on your flight, all good. If you can get the media via wifi and have an iPad on hand, a larger screen is a perk...

The only thing I don't like about the new AF is that the cable is permanently affixed, so keep your pets, scissors, whatever could damage that cable far away. On my older version the cable is detachable (3.5mm plug).

Thank you very much for the feedback SCP
